Sponsored by Dean Louis Martin-Vega and the Faculty Mentors, the Research Experience for Undergraduates Program offers a limited number (depending on the availability of funds) of Engineering Undergraduate Research Fellowships.Participatinnts will be paid $8 per hour for 10 hours maximum per week, by the CoE-REU program.
Our aim is to offer an exciting research experience to as many students as possible. Therefore, Engineering Undergraduate Research Fellowships will usually be limited to a one-year period. After one year, students can still be funded, depending on the availability of funds, into Graduate School or will be continued by their Faculty Mentors on external funds.

All participating students are requested to produce the following deliverables after each semester/summer of participation: A report, a three PowerPoint slides summary of their activities, and a digital photograph including a short byline showing the student “in action” in the laboratory. The continuation of their Engineering Undergraduate Research Fellowships will depend on the timely furnishing of these documents. The contents and length of the reports are determined by the Faculty Mentors. However, the report should be written like a scientific paper, with introduction, experimental results, discussion and conclusion sections. The reports, PowerPoint slides, and photographs will be posted on the CoE-REU website in the “Deliverables” section.
If a student joined the program during the current semester, the following rules apply to determine whether to submit deliverables or not:
Fall: All students on payroll before October, 13th need to submit.
Spring: All students on payroll before March, 1st need to submit.
Summer: All students on payroll before July, 1st need to submit.
Due dates: One week after the finals weeks or in the week before the Fall semester starts.
